Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said his side are fully focussed on tomorrow night's game with Augsburg, despite the League Cup final looming large at Wembley.
Klopp has suggested he will pick his strongest possible team for the visit of the Bundesliga side after the first leg of the tie finished 0-0 in Bavaria.
The manager suggested at starts for both Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho but confirmed that Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana, Martin Skrtel and Joe Allen are all unavailable for tomorrow evening's game.
Lovren had returned to training after injury but had recently been struck down by illness.
He told reporters at his pre-match press conference, as reported by the Liverpool Echo: "We take every game 100%. We have a final coming up, but that’s not tomorrow. Tomorrow’s game is exciting and important.
"The final is exciting but we have tomorrow’s game first.
"We have to focus on getting through to the next round. We have to learn from last week. In this competition we have big aims.
"For Phil & Daniel, who haven't played much, it's important to play them to get rhythm."
When asked if tomorrow night's game was an opportunity for players to make sure of their starting place for Sunday's final, Klopp's reply was a simple "Yes."
He added: “We must show we want to win the game. Then we make decisions. We have to show that we are able be 100 percent concentrated on this game. Then we will have a really good chance in the final.
"We can lose tomorrow, because Augsburg are strong. I know you all don’t think so but it’s true. If you give all, you don’t always get all but it’s the only chance to get something."
With the tie delicately poised after a 0-0 scoreline from the first leg, Klopp seems intent on his side imposing themselves on the opposition.
"We want to assert ourselves and play our game. Augsburg aren't just a counter attacking team. We are aware of their quality."
