The promising forward started out on the wing in the fixture at Deepdale, and scored the winner early in the second half.
It was Robinson's fifth league appearance of his loan spell, and the goal will be a weight of his shoulders and hopefully allow him to kick on.
Aston Villa teammate Jack Grealish was happy for his pal, and sent Robinson a message on Twitter congratulating him on getting off the mark.
Well done brother on getting the winner tonight for Preston @CallumRobbo37— Jack Grealish (@JackGrealish1) February 23, 2016
This is Robinson's second loan spell in the Championship this season, having spent time at Bristol City earlier in the season. He scored in the League Cup against League Two side Luton Town, but did not net in any of his six Championship appearances, and returned to Villa.
Robinson spent time at Preston in League One last season, scoring four goals.
For Aston Villa's under-21 side he has been more productive, scoring 12 times in 23 games, and last night was the first indication he may be ready to start stepping up, and with Villa looking like certainties for relegation, getting acclimatised to Championship football will leave Robinson in a good position to make an impact next season.
