Top C Suisse risk professional said to die while on vacation

Sad to report.

Steven Bommarito, the head of Credit Suisse’s credit risk review team for the Americas, has died. He was 45.

Bloomberg News reports that he died last week while on vacation, according to two people familiar with his death, who asked not to be identified discussing a private matter.

Bommarito started at Credit Suisse’s New York office last March, leading a group that monitors the bank’s loan and derivatives exposure within the Americas to ensure credit risk issues are identified.

'We are deeply saddened by the death of our friend and colleague', Saad Aslam, Credit Suisse’s global head of credit risk review, said Monday in an e-mailed statement. 'We extend our sympathies to his family and loved ones, whose grief we share'.
