Former Arsenal defender Nigel Winterburn has told Sky Sports News, broadcast on February 24 at 9am, that Arsene Wenger must find a solution to his side's lack of goals.
On Tuesday night, the North Londoners wasted several chances against Barcelona before being made to pay in the latter stages as the visitors secured a 2-0 victory thanks to a double from Lionel Messi.
Wenger has been criticised for his approach to the fixture at the Emirates Stadium, but Winterburn has laid the blame at the door of the club's strikers.
Since January 17, Arsenal have scored just six goals in eight fixtures in all competitions, and that run has included five matches without a goal being recorded.
It is a return that is threatening to derail Arsenal's ambitions in the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League, and Winterburn has admitted that improvements must be made.
He said: "It's a huge problem for them at the moment. It would be a bigger worry if they weren't creating those chances but I've seen Arsene Wenger say that they have to be more ruthless.
"You can see that there has been a lot of frustration around the Emirates over the last few games because they have created the chances and they haven't taken them.
"It puts more pressure on the defence because you make one mistake and you fall behind in a game. They have to be more clinical when they are creating these chances."
Olivier Giroud is the club's top goalscorer with 18 goals, but he has not hit the back of the net in his last eight matches.
Alexis Sanchez, who had his season interrupted through injury, has scored in just two of his last 15 appearances for Arsenal.
