Here is how Dynamo Kiev and Manchester City will line up this evening:
Dynamo Kiev starting XI: Shvkovskiy, Silva, Dragonic, Vida, Khacheridi, Rybalka, Garmash, Gonzalez, Buyalskiy, Yarmolenko, Teodorczyk
Manchester City starting XI: Hart, Sagna, Kompany, Otamendi, Clichy, Fernando, Fernandinho, Toure, Silva, Sterling, Aguero
Manchester City travel to Ukraine this week to take on Dynamo Kiev in the first knockout stage of this season’s Champions League.
City were very impressive in their group but they have faltered in recent weeks and need to get back on track quickly with this match followed by the Capital One Cup final against Liverpool on Sunday.
The Blues’ manager Manuel Pellegrini rested a whole host of star-names for the recent FA Cup fifth round match against Chelsea and City subsequently lost 5-1. However, the familiar players are back for this one as the Chilean attempts to ensure his final season at the Etihad Stadium ends with a trophy or two.
City will be quietly confident of scoring an away goal while Kiev have not played a competitive match since 9 December due to their winter break, so it will be interesting to see how they perform this evening and in the second leg against City next month.
Above is how the two sides will line up as they bid to make it into the quarter-finals of the competition.
