Sheffield Wednesday are set to take on Hull City at the KC Stadium of Friday evening.
Wednesday are set to travel to the KC Stadium later this week, in what will be their third game in the space of just six days.
And Carvalhal has suggested that he could make some alterations, to make sure his side remain fresh for the contest against their fellow promotion contenders.
“Lets see, we didn’t do too many changes since the Preston game because we didn’t need to," the Portuguese boss said. "The players were OK and didn’t feel any kind of problems.
“We’ll see between now and Friday if all the players are ready or not and after we will make our decisions.
“It’s a little different because this is the third game in six days. There are players that recover better than others, there are players who have had little kicks and some who have small problems but we will see.”
Wednesday started their block of three games in quick succession with a 1-0 defeat against Preston North End last Saturday.
Carvalhal made just one enforced change to that team when his side took on Queens Park Rangers last night, but his faith was not rewarded - as the Owls could only pick up a 1-1 draw.
Wednesday’s spot in the play offs is now under serious threat, and they will have to improve if they are to beat Hull.
The Tigers have been one of the standout teams in the Championship so far this season, and they are currently unbeaten in 11 matches.
If Steve Bruce’s men did manage to beat Wednesday on Friday it would consolidate their position at the top of the table, but a win for the Owls would really confirm their status as promotion contenders.
