“What’s impressed me most about Slaven is how calm he is,” Dicks told the club’s official website. “We have had bad games and started off slowly in games, and three or four times we’ve gone two-nil down, but at half-time the gaffer is so calm.
“Sometimes players need a kick up the backside, we know that, but at half-time he is so calm and in the second half they have gone out and been a different team.
“The managers I’ve played under would give you a bit of a hammering, but Slaven is the total opposite.”
Bilic was appointed the West Ham manager in the summer of 2015, and he has done a truly remarkable job so far.
The London club have also progressed to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup where they will face Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford.
This season is turning out to be a great one for West Ham, and Bilic’s calmness is certainly a positive factor.
The former Croatia international defender comes across as a very calm person in his press conferences, and it seems that he also has a similar attitude when he is with his players.
West Ham will return to action this weekend when they take on Sunderland at the Boleyn Ground in the Premier League.
