Fiorentina boss Paulo Sousa believes Tottenham are one of the best sides in Europe - but is confident his team can beat them in the Europa League this weekend.
Speaking to Rai Sport, reported by Tuttomercatoweb, Sousa was full of praise for this Thursday's opponents, and believes he saw enough from his side showing they can compete with the Premier League challengers.
He said: "Tottenham is one of the best teams in Europe for technical, tactical and physical qualities.
"We managed to get them to drop a level with our game control but it did not end with a positive result. There I think, my boys are showing that they want it."
The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw, with Nacer Chadli scoring a vital away goal for Spurs.
Last season the first leg ended 1-1 when the two sides met at the same stage of the competition, but that match was at White Hart Lane, with Fiorentina going on to win the second leg 2-0.
The Europa League has always been a bit of a distraction for Tottenham, and there is more at stake in the Premier League than ever, but with a North London derby on March 4, Spurs need as much positive momentum as they can get, and beating Fiorentina will be a big confidence boost and leave them in with a real shout of reaching the latter stages of the knockout rounds.
Sousa's words are a compliment to Tottenham, and it will be interesting to see if Mauricio Pochettino's chosen XI want the win as much as Sousa claims his side do.
