The young full-back could have a bright future at Sunderland given his recent performances.
Hume has been at the Stadium of Light since he was 10 and he has been impressing at various levels for some time now.
Currently a regular for the Black Cats’ under-18s, Hume played a significant role in their last outing, scoring one and setting up another in a 3-2 defeat to Middlesbrough, and Dickman has been quick to praise the youngster.
“Denver has had a good year,” the coach told safc.com. “In term of his development he has had some ups and downs but he is on more of the up side at the minute and he has done terrific.”
Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce will no doubt be keeping a very close eye on the club’s next generation as they bid to join the likes of Duncan Watmore and George Honeyman in earning first-team recognition.
Sunderland are currently fighting for survival in the Premier League and despite their impressive form of recent weeks they are still 19th in the table, one point away from safety with 12 matches remaining.
