Robbie Savage predicts Arsenal v Barcelona

Arsene Wenger

The two sides meet in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Arsenal could spring a surprise and get a result against Barcelona, but will ultimately lose the tie, Robbie Savage has predicted on Fletch and Sav.

The Gunners host the reigning Champions League holders at the Emirates on Tuesday evening in the first leg of their last 16 tie.

Not many are predicting it to be a good evening for Arsene Wenger’s side, with them having only managed one win in their last seven meetings between the two sides.

Savage though, has predicted that they could spring a surprise and get a result, although ultimately they are going to get beat at the Nou Camp.

“I think they could spring a surprise and beat them, or get a result at the Emirates,” he told Fletch and Sav.

“But I think in the Nou Camp they will get blown away. Away from home with that front three, I can see a three or four nil for Barcelona.”

“Whatever Arsenal do, they’re going to get beat.”

If Arsenal are to spring a surprise at the Emirates, they will need their key men to put in top performances across the field.

Petr Cech is likely to have a busy evening and they will be hoping he can perform as he has for most of this campaign when up against Barca’s lethal forward trio.

At the other end, this game is the perfect chance for Mesut Ozil to prove he can do it in the big games, while Alexis Sanchez will be keen to show his old club what they’re missing.

If all three are on form, there is certainly every chance the Gunners could leave the Emirates with a positive result on Tuesday evening.
