Former Queens Park Rangers and Rangers midfielder Ray Wilkins has told Sky Sports that Everton can win against Chelsea in the FA Cup.
Premier League rivals Everton and Chelsea will face each other in the quarter-finals of the prestigious cup competition this season. The sixth-round tie will be held at Goodison Park on Saturday, March 12.
Former Chelsea and Manchester United midfielder Wilkins believes that Everton can get the better of the Blues and progress to the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
“It doesn't matter that they've got a tough quarter-final tie against Chelsea,” the former England international told Sky Sports.
“In the league meeting earlier this season they hammered Chelsea at Goodison Park. There is no reason they can't do it again.”
Wilkins was referring to Everton’s 3-1 victory over Chelsea at Goodison Park in the Premier League on September 12.
The Blues, then managed by Jose Mourinho, were in terrible form at the time, but at the moment the London outfit are doing relatively well.
Under new boss Guus Hiddink, the Chelsea players have raised their game and appear to be enjoying their football more.
The London outfit will not be easy to win against, as they will have ambitions of their own of winning the FA Cup this campaign.
