Martin Samuelsen is currently on loan at Peterborough United from West Ham United until the end of the season.

Chairman Darragh MacAnthony has suggested that he is confident of signing West Ham United youngster Martin Samuelsen on loan again next season, if Peterborough United are promoted to the Championship.

MacAnthony conducted a question and answer session on Periscope last night, where he suggested that West Ham would be open to allowing Samuelsen to leave on loan again next term.

“If we’re a Championship club, I would fancy our chances,” MacAnthony said, when asked whether Posh would re-sign Samuelsen. .

The Norwegian youngster has dazzled in League One since arriving at the ABAX Stadium back in November.

The 18-year-old has shown a wonderful ability with the ball at his feet, and there is an expectation from West Ham that he will eventually be able to compete with the likes of Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini for a place in their first-team.

At the moment, it seems that the Hammers want him to gain more senior experience elsewhere, however, with a Championship loan move possible next term.

Samuelsen has made 14 appearances for Posh in all competitions so far, and he has scored twice.

The attacking midfielder’s most notable display came in the FA Cup, where he showcased his talents against West Bromwich Albion in front of the television cameras, with West Ham fans very excited about his future.

Peterborough are currently in 12th place in the League One table, meaning they will have to put together a strong end to the campaign if Samuelsen is to return to them next season.
