Arsenal will take on Barcelona at home in the first leg of the Champions League last-16 tie.
Owen has backed the Gunners to score at the Emirates Stadium, but the former Newcastle United striker expects the Spanish giants to register a win.
“Arsenal have been knocked out of the Champions League at this last 16 stage in the last five seasons and it is hard to see past more CL heartache for the Gunners given the quality of opposition,” the former England international wrote on Betvictor.com.
“The Catalan giants are playing football from a different planet at present and with the big three of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar all in top form it will be difficult for the PL side to keep the La Liga side out in their present form; that said I expect Arsenal to score at the Emirates, just not as many as Barcelona!”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Barcelona to win and Both Teams To Score at 21/10.”
Barcelona have arguably the best team on the planet, and in Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar, they have the best front-three in the world.
The Catalan giants will head into the game against Arsenal as massive favourites, but it would not be wise to write off the Gunners’ chances of earning a draw.
Arsene Wenger’s side got the better of Bayern Munich at the Emirates Stadium in the group stage, and perhaps they could do something similar on Tuesday evening.
After all, Arsenal do have some very good players, such as Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Petr Cech.
