Tottenham youngster Nathan Oduwa is being lined up for a loan move to Colchester United, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Oduwa is back at Tottenham after his season-long loan deal at Rangers was cut short last month.
The 19-year-old joined Rangers last summer and he made an early impact during his time at Ibrox with a number of eye-catching performances.
However, Oduwa found his first-team chances limited by December and the arrival of fellow winger Michael O'Halloran in the January transfer window pushed him further down the pecking order at the Scottish giants.
Tottenham and Oduwa opted to cut his loan spell in Scotland short after making 19 appearances during his stint at Rangers.
A number of Football League clubs are understood to have made enquiries to sign Oduwa on loan during the emergency loan window.
Colchester are thought to be leading the race to sign the skilful wide man with U's boss Kevin Keen desperate to bolster his squad with the side currently rooted to the bottom of the table, ten points adrift of safety.
