Well-known Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague has told Sky Sports that Malaga want to sign Raul Albentosa on a permanent contract at the end of the season.
Balague has revealed that the cost of permanently signing the 27-year-old central defender will be around €1.5 million (£1.2m).
“Malaga want to keep him, I think he'll only cost them around 1.5m euros (£1.2m),” Balague told Sky Sports.
Albentosa joined Derby from Eibar on a two-and-a-half-year deal in January 2015, but the Spaniard struggled at the iPro Stadium.
The 27-year-old centre-back could make just eight appearances for Derby during the remainder of the 2014-15 season.
The former Cadiz man created two chances, had a pass accuracy of 73%, and won 22 headers and six tackles.
Albentosa has done relatively well at Malaga, playing in 17 La Liga matches so far this campaign.
The defender has scored two goals, created five chances, has a pass accuracy of 69% and a shot accuracy of 71%, and has won 26 headers, four dribbles and 11 tackles.
