Crystal Palace have booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
The Eagles pulled off a shock to beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at White Hart Lane yesterday afternoon, and progress in the cup competition.
Martin Kelly scored the only goal of the contest, and Parish was delighted to see his side progress to the quarter-final for the first time in over 20 years.
1st goal in 5 years and an important one from Martin Kelly , 20 years since we last got this far… https://t.co/XPAPAHxq5C— Steve Parish (@CEO4TAG) February 21, 2016
Kelly scored Palace’s goal in the first-half, and after they had taken the lead Spurs put them under a great deal of pressure.
Tottenham had Alan Pardew’s side on the back foot for much of the match, but they failed to break down a resolute backline.
Palace’s defenders excelled, as they kept out all of Tottenham’s attacking talents to keep a clean sheet.
Pardew’s men’s victory was their first in four matches, and it also ended Spurs’ eight game unbeaten streak.
The Eagles will face Reading at the Madejski Stadium in the quarter-finals, and if they are able to beat the Championship side they will book their place at Wembley.
