West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble has been quoted as saying on the club’s official Twitter page that he and his teammates will cheer for Shrewsbury Town tonight.
Shrewsbury will take on Premier League giants Manchester United in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Micky Mellon’s side will head into the tie at the Greenhous Meadow as underdogs, with United favourites to register a heavy victory.
Noble has revealed that he and his West Ham teammates want the League One side to win tonight.
“I think secretly we’ll be cheering on Shrewsbury against Manchester United,” the Englishman is quoted as saying on the Hammers’ official Twitter page.
It is not hard to understand why Noble wants Shrewsbury to win this evening. The winners of the tie between the Shrews and United will host West Ham in the quarter-finals of the prestigious cup competition.
Winning against the Red Devils at Old Trafford is going to be much tougher than beating Shrewsbury at the Greenhous Meadow for Slaven Bilic’s side.
West Ham booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup courtesy of a 5-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers away from home at Ewood Park in the fifth round at the weekend.
