Current Manchester United loanee and Hull City midfielder Nick Powell decided to watch the Shrewsbury vs Manchester United cup tie tonight despite teammate David Meyler trying to persuade him otherwise.
The former Crewe Alexandra midfielder recently missed United’s loss to FC Midtjylland in the Europa League as he was too busy playing Fifa, The Mirror reported at the end of last week.
Despite Powell missing the European fixture, he was determined not to make the same mistake twice, resisting David Meyler’s invitation in order to watch the Red Devils in action.
Powell witnessed his parent club progress into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after they recorded a comfortable 3-0 victory over League One strugglers Shrewsbury Town.
The result means that United will face West Ham in the next round of the competition after the Hammers beat Blackburn Rovers 5-1 away from home.
Meanwhile, Powell has his sights set on guiding Hull City straight back into the Premier League. The Tigers are currently top of the division with 60 points but they also have a game in hand over second-placed Burnley.
