Mark Noble sings the praises of West Ham United teammate Emmanuel Emenike

West Ham United striker Emmanuel Emenike scored his first two goals for the club against Blackburn Rovers yesterday.

Mark Noble has told West Ham United’s official site that Emmanuel Emenike was ‘great’ for his side, as they strolled past Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup.

Emenike made his first full start for the Hammers at Ewood Park, and he impressed - scoring twice in the fixture.

And central midfielder Noble has praised the Nigerian international for the quality of his performance.

“Obviously we lost out on Andy (Carroll) during the week but Emenike has come in and has been great for us today,” Noble said.

“I have said what I think about him (Payet). He is a top player and a top pro. To be fair Dimitri has been there and scored goals but Emenike has come in for his first start and to get a couple of goals in the FA Cup is fantastic for him.”

West Ham actually looked to be in trouble against Blackburn when Ben Marshall fired the Championship side into the lead.

However, Slaven Bilic’s men showed their resilience and quality to come from behind to claim the victory.

The Hammers first scored through Victor Moses, before Dimitri Payet curled in a brilliant free-kick.

Emenike then got in on the act by scoring twice from close-range, before Payet finished off the scoring in the last minute.

West Ham had over 7,000 fans packed into the away end at Ewood Park, and they were delighted with their side’s performance.

The Hammers will now take on Manchester United or Shrewsbury Town in March in the quarter-finals of the competition.
