Kolo Toure says he hasn't received any offers for his services yet.
Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has told The Mirror that he wants to change people's opinion of him, and is very happy at Anfield right now.
Toure, formerly of Arsenal and Manchester City, is now 34 and ultimately coming towards the end of his career at the top of the Premier League.
Injuries to the likes of Dejan Lovren and Martin Skrtel forced Klopp into using Toure in his defence, and the Ivorian even popped up with a goal in the recent 6-0 win over Aston Villa.
However, Toure is out of contract at the end of the season, and given the way that many fans see him as a bumbling, error prone centre back whose best years are behind him, it's been expected for some time that Toure will be moving on in the summer.
The signing of Schalke defender Joel Matip on a pre-contract agreement last week did little to help Toure's situation, but he isn't giving up hope just yet.
Toure has told The Mirror that he wants to change people's minds about him, and even revealed that he hasn't heard from Liverpool about a new deal - and hasn't been offered any other opportunities for when his contract expires at the end of the season.
"I am a fighter. What’s important is what’s happening for me right now. I’m in the team at the moment and I am showing every game that I’m still here," said Toure. "It doesn’t matter what other people say, I have this smile, I’m very happy and I always give 100 per cent for this club. This club is amazing. The fans love me.
"If I keep performing that will force people to change their minds. Sometimes you can make people change their minds by performing well and that’s my challenge right now. I can show people by my games that I’m still a top player. That’s all I can do and I will fight until the end. I will enjoy every second at Liverpool. I’ve not had any offers for next season yet, and I’ve not been told anything. If I keep playing like I am at the moment then I’m sure doors will open," he added.
Should Liverpool offer Toure a new contract?
