Sterling was among 12 youngsters who signed two-year scholarship deals with Leeds United last May, dubbed the class of 2015 by the club's official website.
He is a regular in the Leeds United under-18 side, which is overseen along with the under-21s by head of academy Paul Hart.
Sterling is a defender, described by agency Total Sports Management as a player possessing: "A commanding presence in the defensive line equally adept at right back or central defence."
Whether his music or football career takes off quicker remains to be seen, but the youngster is clearly an individual with options, and given the large number of young players who do not make the leap to professional careers, it is interesting to see a teenager forging an alternate route to stardom at the same time.
