West Ham defeated Blackburn in the FA Cup on Sunday.

West Ham co-chairman David Gold has raved about the club’s fans, posting an emotional message on his personal Twitter account.

When as West Ham fan praised all the fantastic players Slaven Bilic can call upon, Gold said that, most importantly, the Hammers possess an ardent fan-base who cheered their team on despite going a goal down.

Rovers took a 1-0 lead in the tie, but from the moment Victor Moses netted the equaliser just minutes later, the result was never in doubt.

Dimitri Payet ran the show, scoring twice, whilst Emmanuel Emenike also netted twice on his full debut for the club, securing a 5-1 victory.

The West Ham fans were treated to a display of glorious football, enjoying another fantastic week in what has been a fantastic season for the East London club.

The Hammers are flying high in the league, with ambitions to secure European football for next season, and they could realistically win the FA Cup this term.

Their fans deserve such on-pitch success, and it is fantastic to see them being rewarded by a team who are playing at the top of their game.
