Aston Villa's senior side lost 3-0 against their development squad in a training match.
Aston Villa’s first-team were beaten 3-0 in a training ground match against the under-21’s this afternoon, and the club’s supporters have suggested that now is the time for manager Remi Garde to start using the youngsters.
Villa’s development squad’s line-up did include Jordan Ayew and Leandro Bacuna, but Claret and Blues fans showed no sympathy for the players involved in the senior team.
The likes of Brad Guzan, Alan Hutton, Ciaran Clark, Kieran Richardson, Ashley Westwood, Jordan Veretout, Idrissa Gueye, and Scott Sinclair all started for Villa’s senior squad in the match, according to Sky Sports.
However, the experienced players were humiliated once again, as Villa’s development side showed their quality.
With the Claret and Blues seemingly destined to be relegated, Villa fans are now calling for Garde to start trying some of the youth team in senior matches.
Villa are currently eight points adrift of safety, and there is a feeling that things could not get any worse if Garde promoted some of his more inexperienced players.
The French boss has already promised to name an 18-man squad full of players who care about the club, after seeing his side lose 6-0 to Liverpool in their most recent outing, and it could be that some of Vila’s brightest prospects see some first-team action in the coming weeks.
Here is the best reaction to Villa’s training ground defeat on social media site Twitter.
Am I the only one that thought it was obvious our U21's were a lot better than first team? Common sense. PLAY THEM REMI #avfc— foxy (@meganmaisies) February 22, 2016
