Wahbi Khazri has told Sunderland’s official website that settling in at the Stadium of Light has been very easy so far.
The Tunisian international was brought to Sunderland from Bordeaux during the January transfer window and he has immediately made an impression on Wearside.
The attacking midfielder has increased the quality of Sunderland’s forward play and his set pieces have really caught the eye.
Khazri played a starring role as Sunderland beat Manchester United in their most recent outing and the 25-year-old is delighted with how things have gone at his new club so far.
“It’s going really well and everyone has welcomed me so it’s been easy to settle in,” said Khazri. “It’s good to score for the first time and good for my confidence, and for me to score and for us to beat Man United makes it even better.”
Khazri and the rest of his Sunderland teammates are currently in Dubai as they participate in some warm weather training.
The Black Cats have enjoyed the weekend off as they are out of the FA Cup.
Khazri was one of five additions that Sunderland made during the January transfer window with Steve Harper, Lamine Kone, Jan Kirchhoff and Dame N’Doye also joining.
The new additions have largely impressed so far, and they have helped Sunderland move a lot closer to safety.
The Black Cats are now only one point away from 17th-placed Norwich City, and they return to action with a match against West Ham United next weekend.
