Sam Allardyce explains how he feels about facing West Ham on Twitter

The Sunderland boss took to social media ahead of next weekend's trip to old club West Ham.

Sunderland head coach Sam Allardyce says he can't wait to get back into Premier League action next weekend - and is looking forward to facing former club West Ham United.

Allardyce will take his Black Cats side to Upton Park, where he will be greeted by the club he managed for years.

Sunderland are fighting relegation and a result against West Ham would be extra special for Big Sam.

The Hammers are in fine form, however, having thrashed Blackburn Rovers 5-1 in the FA Cup and enjoyed a strong Premier League season to date.

West Ham have, though, suffered from the odd bout of inconsistency in recent weeks and Sunderland will be buoyed by that.

Hopefully, Allardyce will receive a pleasant reception from the Upton Park faithful. Since his departure from West Ham, plenty has been said.

Fans once booed Big Sam after a victory, while Allardyce has made a number of comments about the club that could quite easily be perceived as bitter.

But West Ham are doing well now and Sunderland are clearly doing far better since they employed the former Hammers boss. May the two sides contest a good, peaceful game...
