West Hma United beat Blackburn Rovers 5-1 in the FA Cup this afternoon.
West Ham United have moved into the last eight of the FA Cup following a 5-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park this afternoon.
The Hammers had beaten Wolverhampton Wanderers and Liverpool to reach the fifth round stage, but may now be one of the favourites for the competition after a superb win over Blackburn.
The Championship club took the lead in the first half through Ben Marshall, but that's as good as it got for Rovers, as Victor Moses and Dimitri Payet struck quickly to put West Ham 2-1 up before half time.
After Chris Taylor was sent off for Blackburn, West Ham took complete charge as new signing Emmanuel Emenike scored his first two goals in claret and blue, before Payet added his second in the dying seconds to make it 5-1.
Slaven Bilic's men survived an early scare to fight back and win in style, with Emenike enjoying a first start for West Ham since signing from Fenerbahce in January.
The Nigerian international had been limited to substitute appearances before today's game, and he certainly took his chance by finishing off a Cheikhou Kouyate pass from close range, before rounding Blackburn goalkeeper Jason Steele to grab his second.
The 28-year-old's joy was clear as he celebrated his goals with team-mates and the huge travelling West Ham support, and he will be hoping that this is the start of a fruitful loan spell at Upton Park.
Here are some of the best photos after Emenike opened his account for West Ham earlier today...
What did you think of Emenike's display against Blackburn Rovers?
