Newcastle United were not in action this weekend.

Newcastle United goalkeeper Freddie Woodman has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at the way things are going for him in training.

The 18-year-old goalkeeper is part of the Newcastle squad currently training in Spain.

The youngster, who is highly rated, is enjoying himself at La Manga training facility and is pleased to have played in the friendly against Lillestrom on Saturday.

Newcastle, who lost 5-1 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in London last weekend, are not back in action until March 2.

The Magpies are in real danger of getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.

Head coach Steve McClaren is using the mini-break to prepare his players for the massive challenge that lays ahead.

The Newcastle players will come back from Spain refreshed and rejuvenated, and hopefully for the fans, they will start getting positive results.

The Magpies will take on Stoke City away from home at the Britannia Stadium in the Premier League on March 2.
