Lescott’s response when asked what he would do if Aston Villa are relegated

Joleon Lescott is committed to Aston Villa.

Joleon Lescott has told The Times that he will not leave Aston Villa in the summer transfer window if the club are relegated from the Premier League.

The 33-year-old defender joined Villa from Premier League rivals West Bromwich Albion in the summer of 2015 and has a contract until June 2017.

The Villans are in real danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season.

Remi Garde’s side are at the bottom of the Premier League table at the moment with just 16 points from 26 matches.

Lescott has made it clear that he will remain committed to the Villans even if they get relegated to the Championship.

“I’d stay,” the England international told The Times when asked what he would do if Villa get relegated. “I’m not going to leave.”

Lescott has scored one goal and created three chances in 18 Premier League appearances for Villa so far this season.

The England international defender has a pass accuracy of 74% and a shot accuracy of 40%, and has won 48 headers, three dribbles and 17 tackles.
