10 points for effort, 0 points for technique!
There are many things to love about football, from a well-timed tackle to a brilliant solo goal. However, one thing that probably gives us the most pleasure is seeing a really well-worked free-kick routine which you know the players spent hours perfecting on the training ground.
While it is great to see one of those routines come off and result in the ball flying into the top corner, it is even better when sides go through the rigmarole of five players trying to trick their opposition only for it to massively fail.
And that is exactly what happened to Vanarama National League side Cheltenham Town during their win over Tranmere Rovers.
The side are currently top of the league and four points clear of second place, having lost only once in 34 games and decided to just take the mick now!
After winning a free-kick, the side pulled off a rather impressive multiple-man dummy before the kicker sent the ball seriously wide of the goal.
This is the best free-kick routine you'll ever see... https://t.co/uwt83RR72H— Top Corner (@HITCtopcorner) February 21, 2016
Amazing! We hope they try this one again with better success!
