Flamini praises Arsenal duo Elneny and Iwobi

Arsenal and Hull City played out a goalless draw this weekend.

Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini has been speaking to the club’s official website about his new teammate Mohamed Elneny.

The Egyptian international signed for the Gunners from FC Basel last month and on Saturday he made his second appearance for Arsene Wenger’s side in the FA Cup fifth round clash against Hull City.

The two sides drew 0-0 at the Emirates Stadium, meaning they will have to meet again in a replay at the KC Stadium to decide who makes it into the quarter-finals.

But despite Arsenal fans’ disappointment at the result they will have taken great pleasure in the performance of Elneny, who shone at the weekend.

Speaking to arsenal.com after the game, Flamini said the following in regards to both his midfield partner and exciting winger Alex Iwobi: “I think they both played very well. They were very good in their positions, very good technically and also in transition defensively and offensively.

“It was a good partnership and I enjoyed it but we have to continue now.”

Arsenal’s next match is a huge Champions League tie against Barcelona next week so all their attention will now be turned to that clash, with Elneny’s next chance to impress likely to come in the fifth round replay.
