West Ham United beat Blackburn Rovers 5-1 in the FA Cup earlier today.
The Hammers were followed by over 7,000 fans to Blackburn Rovers’ home ground, and their supporters were rewarded for their loyalty and commitment.
West Ham ended up winning the fixture comfortably, with the away end creating a great atmosphere throughout the match.
How about those away fans today! Oh and the players went bad either.. https://t.co/iIDeZQHegI— Don Hutchison (@donhutch4) February 21, 2016
West Ham initially looked to be under threat from Blackburn when Ben Marshall fired the Championship side into the lead.
However, they struck back through Victor Moses and went from strength to strength after getting back on level terms.
Dimitri Payet fired in a free-kick to put the Hammers in the lead and they then turned the screw.
After Blackburn picked up a red card, Emmanuel Emenike scored twice, before Payet wrapped up the triumph late on.
Hammers manager Slaven Bilic has already stated that he would rather win the FA Cup than qualify for the Champions League this season, and the London side’s players seem to be taking the competition very seriously.
West Ham will now play their quarter-final against Manchester United or Shrewsbury Town on the weekend commencing Saturday 12 March.
