Derby County beat Brentford 3-1 at Griffin Park yesterday.

Darren Bent’s performance yesterday appears to have done little to convince Derby County supporters that he is worthy of a run of games in their first-team.

Derby fans have been calling for Bent to come back into their starting line-up, with the experienced forward finding first-team chances hard to come by this season.

Before Derby’s match against Brentford Chris Martin had not scored for four months, but he was almost always selected ahead of Bent.

Former Rams boss Paul Clement completely dropped the ex-England international out of contention, but he was handed a lifeline by Darren Wassall yesterday.

However, Bent failed to make much of an impression in the match with Derby’s best form coming while he was off the pitch.

Brentford took the lead against Derby at Griffin Park, but a late fightback provided the Midlands side with their first win in eight matches.

Goals from Jeff Hendrick, Martin and Cyrus Christie sealed the victory, and many Derby fans have suggested that Bent should now drop back to his bench-warming role. Here is the best reaction on Twitter.
