West Ham manager Slaven Bilic highlights Blackburn Rovers' main threat

The two sides meet in the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has warned his side to be ready for Blackburn Rovers' set-piece play, via the club’s official website.

The Hammers travel to Ewood Park on Sunday afternoon in the fifth round of the competition, having managed to overcome Liverpool in the last round.

Many are expecting them to progress against Paul Lambert’s side, with them currently focusing on the league given their current precarious situation there.

Bilic though, is not expecting an easy game and has warned his side to be wary, describing the tie as a very difficult one for his team.

“Blackburn are a huge club,” he told whufc.com.

“When I was playing, they were massive, and that wasn’t ages ago. It’s a very difficult game for us. They are direct which is very dangerous so it’ll be a big test for us.”

“They’re not having a great season in the league, but they haven’t conceded a lot so they are very solid. And 61% of their goals come from set pieces so that is a big threat.”

Should West Ham progress against Blackburn, it will be interesting to see how they treat it moving forward.

They are very much in the race for a top six place this season, with them currently 7th in the table, level on points with Southampton in 6th and just a point behind Manchester United in 5th.

A cup run would be more than welcome though, with many believing that a final trophy would be the perfect send off for Upton Park before their move to the Olympic Stadium next season.
