Spurs thrash Arsenal in Under-18 fixture

Tottenham Hotspur Under-18 side have shown that it's not just the first team that is flourishing at White Hart Lane as they hit four past Arsenal on Saturday.

Tottenham Hotspur Under-18 side have ensured that Arsenal suffered two disappointments on Saturday afternoon by beating the Gunners' youth side by a 4-0 scoreline.

The first team have hit the headlines after failing to make the breakthrough against a resolute Hull City side in the FA Cup fifth round, but before that fixture began at the Emirates Stadium, the Under-18 side were on the receiving end of a four-goal demolition from their North London rivals.

After a goalless first 45 minutes, Spurs took the lead through Samuel Shashoua, who converted from close range after Kazaiah Sterling had seen a shot parried away.

Arsenal fell further behind as a deflected free kick from Marcus Edwards found the back of the net before the England Under-17 international found the corner with a low drive.

Ryan Loft completed the scoring in injury-time after being played through on goal to cap off a dominant triumph at Spurs' training centre.

More will be made of Arsenal failing to score past a Championship side just three days before the arrival of Barcelona, but behind the scenes, this setback will hurt.
