Report suggests Barcelona want Everton defender, but it's Ramiro Funes Mori and not John Stones

Camp Nou, Barcelona - Mes Que un Club

The Argentine has reportedly caught the eye at the Nou Camp.

Everton defender John Stones has become one of the most wanted defenders in the world in recent times. The England international has been linked with the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and, most pertinently, Chelsea.

He was also linked with Barcelona.

Recently however his form has been poor for The Toffees and he has been ably replaced by talented Argentine Ramiro Funes Mori.

Now it is he who is being linked with Barcelona.

Mundo Deportivo report the news, and they tend to be in the know when it comes to the Catalan club.

They report that Barcelona have been observing Everton to follow the progress of Gerard Deulofeu - who has a buy-back clause in his deal from the Nou Camp.

They were also keeping tabs on Stones but have been more impressed by Funes Mori in recent times.

They also claim that the Everton defender's agent, Jorge Cyterszpiler, has a positive relationship with Barca - as he was the man that took Diego Maradona to the club.

Funes Mori only joined Everton in the summer. According to Sky Sports the Argentine cost £9.5 million from River Plate.

He has impressed this term and if Barcelona want to sign him in the summer they may have to pay big for the 24-year-old.
