The Dutchman recently suffered a horrific eye injury.
Newcastle United have been taking advantage of their FA Cup exit this week to take in some warm weather training in Spain.
The club, who were knocked out of the competition by Watford in the third round, are therefore not in action this week, although will take on Lillestrom in a friendly match this afternoon.
One man who will be hoping to get some action in that game is Siem de Jong.
He has travelled to Spain with the rest of his team-mates as he makes a comeback from his latest injury problem.
The Dutchman suffered a lacerated eye and has not featured since last month. He has battled several injuries since heading to Tyneside, including a collapsed lung, so hopefully the crock can put these problems behind him.
In general the Newcastle players all looked to be in good spirits, well Steven Taylor did at least.
As did the manager. Judging by this photo it is hard to imagine that Newcastle are currently in the relegation mark in the Premier League.
Newcastle do not have a competitive fixture until March, as they were due to play Manchester City on League Cup final weekend.
Hopefully the mood will still be good by then.
