Trainer Peter Fury has revealed on Twitter that he is looking to agreed a deal for Alexander Ustinov to face Hughie Fury next month.
In recent weeks, Peter has signalled his intention to find a top-10 opponent for Hughie as he looks to progress up the world rankings, but they were frustrated in their attempts to land a bout with Andrey Fedosov, who is said to have rejected the opportunity to travel over to London on March 26.
However, Fury - uncle to world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury - has said on social media that negotiations are underway regarding a potential meeting with Ustinov.
We now offered Ustinov ranked no 5 WBA WBO. & contracts gone out. Frank warren trying to make this happen" awaiting news from Frank.— peter fury. (@peterfury) February 20, 2016
Ustinov is currently scheduled to face Luis Ortiz in June, but it now appears that the 39-year-old could decide on a different route and fight Fury instead.
At the same time as negotiating Hughie's next outing, Peter is talking with Wladimir Klitschko's team regarding the rematch with Tyson Fury.
The United Kingdom and the UAE are said to be the two destinations in the running to stage the WBA and WBO title clash.
