Kristoffer Ajer hits back at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after his comments about Celtic move

The Norwegian was also wanted by Molde.

Celtic have snapped up talented Norwegian youngster Kristoffer Ajer from IK Start. The teenager will join the club at the end of the season with Celtic beating plenty of top opposition for his signature.

The Bhoys are clearly planning for the future with this arrival and Celtic fans will rightly be excited about the future with Ajer in midfield.

Joining Celtic was a shock move for the player, who had been linked with plenty of bigger clubs, but one former Norwegian superstar believes the move was a mistake.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted him at Molde, but Ajer rejected the former Manchester United boss for Celtic.

Nettavisen in Norway reports that Solsjkaer criticised Ajer for that decision, saying he moved for the money.

Now Ajer has responded. The teenager has told Nettavisen:

"I saw it (what he said). There are many other teams that are better than Molde on developing players, so it's not something I think about.

"It is somewhat typical, if they were just looking for me. I know myself what my contract looks like, and I know the plans that I have.

"What people say or believe, I care very little about. But Solskjaer is a very good manager, so it probably came out a bit wrong."

Ajer is clearly a big follower of Celtic and is more than happy to be with the club.

Solskjaer's comments, smack a little bit of sour grapes from the former Manchester United hero.

Celtic fans will now be excited to see if Ajer can live up to the hype when he arrives at Parkhead for good in the summer
