Kevin Davies reacts on Twitter to Bolton’s late heartbreak; praises Preston win

Bolton Wanderers drew 1-1 with Queens Park Rangers, while Preston North End defeated Sheffield Wednesday 1-0.

Kevin Davies has taken to social networking site Twitter in order to share his frustration as his former side Bolton Wanderers were held to a 1-1 draw at home Queens Park Rangers.

The Trotters have picked up some form of late, and headed in to their clash with QPR knowing that a victory would have seen them leapfrog Rotherham United who lost 2-0 at Burnley.

Neil Lennon’s side were good value for their late 1-0 lead, but a last-gasp equaliser from the West London club denied the hosts all three points and left them in 23rd spot in the Championship table.

Writing on Twitter, Davies remarked how he could see QPR’s goal coming while also reserving praise for Preston after they boosted their potential playoff surge with victory over Sheffield Wednesday.

Bolton’s home draw leaves them six points behind MK Dons who occupy 21st spot, and nine points behind Bristol City who made it three wins on the bounce after defeating the Dons 2-0 in Buckinghamshire.

It’s looking increasingly bleak for Lennon’s side in their fight for Championship survival, though at the other end of the table the race for promotion is hotting up after another weekend of indifferent results.

Cardiff City thrashed Brighton 4-1, while Derby County ended their run of eight games without a win with a late come-from-behind 3-1 victory over an out of from Brentford at Griffin Park.

But the big result in Lancashire was Preston’s slim 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday, their third on the bounce which has taken them to within eight points of the Owls and the playoffs.

A top six spot may be beyond Simon Grayson’s men this season, but thus far they have far outweighed expectations and they can be delighted with their efforts upon their return to the Championship.
