The Portuguese boss is currently out of work after leaving Chelsea.
The Portuguese boss was sacked by Chelsea earlier this season, after a disastrous campaign saw them fighting relegation rather than battling for the title again.
He has since been linked with a number of jobs in world football, with Manchester United looking to be the frontrunners as Louis Van Gaal continues to struggle.
Another club he has been linked with is former club Inter Milan, but Wilkins has insisted that Mourinho will not be making a return to Italy.
“He’s very sought after, [but] he won’t go to Inter Milan,” he told Fletch and Sav.
“That’s Mancini’s gig for a couple of years, they’re trying to build something so I don’t think Mourinho will go to Inter. That’s been put out there to hurry someone along.”
“If I was Mourinho and was given the opportunity to taking Manchester United, I would take it tomorrow, not wait until the end of the season. He can only win.”
If Mourinho were to head to Old Trafford, it would be fascinating for world football given Pep Guardiola is set to head to Manchester City in the summer.
The pair was famous rivals when in charge of Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively, clashing on numerous occasions in a series of passionate meetings.
Reviving that rivalry in Manchester would be fascinating for the football neutrals, and would certainly add some extra spice to the Premier League title race next season.
