The Rams have imploded of late, having failed to win in their last eight Championship games, picking up just four points in that spell.
Manager Paul Clement lost his job earlier this month having seen his side struggle in recent games, leaving Darren Wassall to step up from youth academy duty to take over the Derby first team until the end of the season.
Wassall's first game in charge didn't go well, as Derby lost 1-0 at home to Milton Keynes Dons, meaning they have dropped down to sixth place, and just three points clear of seventh placed Birmingham City.
Derby's promotion push is on the verge of collapse unless something changes quickly, and a result is desperately needed as they travel to London to face Brentford this afternoon.
Holloway also told Sky Sports that Derby's players must step and regain their team spirit, or their season really will unravel - and he predicts that the Rams will lose 2-1 against Brentford today.
"Where do you start with Derby? My advice to the chairman is: don't go in the dressing room and have a go at the players," said Holloway. "They haven't won since that. It was a draw at home to Reading, is that such a bad result?
"Surely Derby have to pick up now? Are they going to capitulate? They have to find the spirit. I am sick of players blaming managers - they have to find the spirit within the group and use decisions and goals that go against you to make you stronger. I don't see them doing that, so the jury is out on them. They have to start winning now but it's a very tough fixture for them. I just can't see Derby getting anything," he added.
