Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Crystal Palace, Stoke, Aston Villa, Sunderland, West Brom and Southampton have all been linked.

This week it was reported by many that a heap of Premier League clubs were keen on signing Laurent Depoitre of Gent.

The Independent reported that 13 teams were heading out to watch him in action in the Champions League this week.

The teams in question are Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Crystal Palace, Stoke, Aston Villa, Sunderland, West Brom and Southampton.

Some have been linked before. Aston Villa made a formal approach in January but shirked at a £14 million price-tag - according to talkSPORT.

Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Crystal Palace, Stoke, Aston Villa, Sunderland, West Brom and Southampton could all do with a new striker in their ranks and his club president Ivan De Witte has now told the BBC that he is hopeful of keeping the player, but expects his ambitions will take him elsewhere:

"About two or three (phonecalls a week) but this is not direct. This is usually going to the mediacy of agencies, or bringing us interest of one or two clubs.

"We are very aware of the fact that there is a lot of interest for Laurent Depoitre but there is a lot of interest for some other players also.

"Yes why not (keep Depoitre). So far we have succeeded to keep other players. So I don't see why we shouldn't be able to keep Laurent Depoitre, financially.

"But I have a feeling he is also very motivated. He is 27-years-old and to take the bigger opportunity to play in a bigger championship."

Depoitre has scored 12 times this season in 33 games, including on his international debut for Belgium, so is certainly a popular figure in Belgian football and a wanted commodity.

It certainly seems as though Gent are open to selling the player and many of these teams should make a move.
