Chris Sutton has suggested in The Daily Record that Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata cannot be trusted.
The former Celtic striker has claimed that the 25-year-old Belgium international is still unproven.
“Defensively, Dedyck Boyata is athletic, but not a ball-playing centre half to be trusted,” Sutton told The Daily Record. “He may pass the ball well eight times out of 10 but it’s the two he gives away which are the worry. He’s still unproven for me.”
Boyata joined Celtic from Premier League giants Manchester City in the summer of 2015 after finding it hard to break into the Citizens’ first team.
Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 61 points from 26 matches.
Ronny Deila’s side are six points clear of second-placed Aberdeen and are firm favourites to win the league title this season.
The Bhoys will return to action this coming Friday evening when they take on Hamilton Academical away from home at New Douglas Park in the Scottish Premiership.
Hamilton are ninth in the league table at the moment with 29 points from 27 matches.
