Crag Dawson yesterday signed a new contract with West Brom, and Tony Pulis has reacted to the news when talking to a press conference.
TP: "I'm pleased for Craig (Dawson), he's done smashing for us, he's a young player who's improved as season has gone on. I'm delighted."— West Bromwich Albion (@WBAFCofficial) February 19, 2016
Dawson agreed a new deal until 2018, with the 25-year-old deserving the contract considering his impressive form for the Baggies.
The former England Under-21 international signed for the Baggies in the summer of 2010, agreeing a move from Football League side Rochdale.
He has spend time out on loan from the Hawthorns, including spells back at Rochdale and with Bolton Wanderers, but he has now truly established himself as a key player for Pulis’ side.
The defender, who can play anywhere along the back-line, has played 97 times for the club, scoring four goals and registering seven assists.
He is undoubtedly Pulis’ first-choice right-back, and he has come to define the effective but no-thrills football that West Brom currently play.
His contract is deserved, and Pulis certainly sounds pleased to have tied one of his key defenders down to a new deal.
