The duo were the stars of the show in the recent 6-0 win over Aston Villa.
The duo recently returned to the starting line up for Sunday’s 6-0 win over Aston Villa, with both having spent extended time on the treatment table this season.
They made an instant impact upon their return as well, with the Brazilian showing the kind of creativity that has sorely been lacking in the Liverpool midfielder, while Sturridge demonstrated his incisive finishing once again.
And Clyne has now hailed the duo, saying he is certain that both are going to get even better in future.
“Sturridge and Coutinho are both quality players. They are massive for us. They can get us goals and offer a real attacking threat,” he told liverpoolfc.com.
“It is good to have them back and you can see the difference their quality makes to us. I am sure they are hungry and fresh for the rest of the season.”
“It was a good all-round performance against Villa. We scored a lot of goals and were solid in defence. We were clinical and that is what we have to be moving forward. I'm sure they are going to be even better in the future.”
Jurgen Klopp will now be hoping he can have both players fit for the rest of the campaign as they eye a place in Europe next season.
They are currently eighth in the table, but just three points off Manchester United in fifth, meaning a place in the top six is very much up for grabs.
They are also into the latter stages of the Europa League, and may be eyeing success there given that the winners are handed a place in the Champions League next season.
In each case, Coutinho and Sturridge are likely to be key to their hopes of doing as well as possible, and they will keen to keep the duo fully fit and firing from here on in.
