The young forward has broken through into Arsene Wenger’s first team squad this season, impressing when given the chance by his manager.
He has mostly featured in the cup competitions, looks likely to play some sort of role in his side’s clash with Championship side Hull City on Saturday.
Iwobi is highly thought of at the Emirates, and apparently outside of it too, with former Gunner Kanu saying he has all it takes to be a big hit at the club and on the international stage too.
“He is a young lad and he has all it takes,” Kanu told Arsenal Player.
“He just needs to work hard and keep his head down and keep pushing so he gets his chance.
“Football is all about chances and when you have the opportunity you have to grab it. I believe he is going to make his mark.”
If Iwobi is to make his mark, the FA Cup seems his best opportunity to do so this season.
Wenger is unlikely to risk many of his first team stars in the cup given where they are in the league, with them currently second and fighting it out for the title this season.
That is the closest they have been to Premier League glory for a number of years, and the FA Cup is likely to be put on the back burner as a result.
That is not a negative though as it gives youngsters such as Iwobi their chance to impress, and he will be hoping he can do just that against the Tigers this weekend.
