The Tottenham wonderkid is a former team-mate of the Bournemouth striker.
Alli is far closer to 10 goals than 10 starts in reality, absolutely thriving since being brought to White Hart Lane.
And he says he has to pinch himself a little, calling his debut season at Tottenham 'a crazy' one.
The teenager is quoted as telling beIN Sport by the Mirror: "It’s funny you know. Obviously you speak about it with your friends and stuff when you move clubs, and I was speaking about it to Benik Afobe on the phone and I was saying that I wanted to get ten starts by the end of the season.
"Yes (I am pinching myself a bit). It is a dream and I’m hoping somebody doesn’t wake me up but yeah it’s been a crazy start to the year for me."
Alli's shock is understandable and the rate at which he has surpassed expectations has been phenomenal.
His creativity is vital to this Spurs side and he is often the difference for the north London outfit in a tight situation.
Afobe, meanwhile, is also thriving at Bournemouth. MK Dons have certainly left a legacy in the Premier League...
Both Bournemouth and Tottenham are in FA Cup action this weekend, the former facing Everton and Alli's men hosting Crystal Palace.
