The talented young goalkeeper was facing Emmanuel Emenike.

West Ham United were in training yesterday with new striker Emmanuel Emenike in action and trying to hit the back of the net for the Hammers.

That is one thing he has failed to do just yet on the pitch and the West Ham official Twitter account highlighted him taking a strike at the goal in training yesterday.

But most interestingly from this picture was who was facing him in the nets.

That is Sam Howes, not Adrian, attempting to fend off his strike. So who is this young goalkeeper?

Howes is just 18-years-old and he joined the West Ham academy from Crystal Palace as an under-10.

There is no doubt he is a bright talent for the future. The teenager has played for the under-18s and the under-21s and is currently one of England's regular under-18 goalkeepers.

He helped England win the UEFA under-17 Championship in 2014 and he looks like a bright prospect for both West Ham and England going forward.

At the moment the likes of Adrian, Darren Randolph and Raphael Spiegel are ahead of him in the pecking order, but Howes is a talent to keep an eye on.
