Former Newcastle United striker Michael Owen has predicted on Betvictor.com that Watford will win against Leeds United this weekend.
Premier League outfit Watford will take on Championship side Leeds at Vicarage Road in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.
Owen has backed the Hornets to win the tie, and has claimed that strikers Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo could be the difference between the two sides.
“This is, historically, a feisty affair with five red cards in the last seven meetings between the clubs,” the former Liverpool striker wrote on Betvictor.com.
“Troy Deeney has scored six in his last six games between the sides and he and strike partner Odion Ighalo can be the difference between the sides.”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Watford to lead ht/ft at 13/8.”
Owen wrote on Colossusbets.com: “Watford are doing brilliantly in the Premier League and they moved up to ninth in the table courtesy of a 2-1 win at struggling Crystal Palace on Saturday.
“Their home record in the league isn’t the greatest, but they are a hard side to break down and should have too much for a moderate Championship side in Leeds who were in action at home to Middlesbrough on Monday night in a 0-0 draw. I take Watford to win 2-1.”
Watford will head into the tie against Leeds on the back of a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace away from home at Selhurst Park in the Premier League.
The Hornets are ninth in the Premier League table at the moment with 36 points from 26 matches.
Meanwhile, Leeds currently find themselves 16th in the Championship table with 37 points from 31 games.
The West Yorkshire outfit will head into the match against Watford on the back of a goalless draw with Middlesbrough at Elland Road in the league.
