Michael Owen predicts Reading v West Brom

Reading will face West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup this weekend.

Former Newcastle United striker Michael Owen has predicted on Betvictor.com that the FA Cup tie between Reading and West Bromwich Albion this weekend will end in a draw.

Reading will take on West Brom at the Madejski Stadium in the fifth round of the prestigious cup competition on Saturday afternoon.

“The sides met at the corresponding stage of the 2010 competition with the Royals successful on that occasion, but the Baggies showed their mettle when winning at Goodison last weekend and I think they will get a replay,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Game to finish 1-1 at 6/1.”

Reading will head into the tie against West Brom on the back of a goalless draw with Burnley at home in the Championship.

Brian McDermott’s side are 15th in the Championship table at the moment with 37 points from 31 matches.

Meanwhile, West Brom are currently 14th in the Premier League table with 32 points from 26 games, just eight points above the relegation zone.

The Baggies will head into the game against Reading on the back of a narrow 1-0 victory over Everton away from home at Goodison Park in the league.

Reading will fancy their chances against West Brom as they are at home, but the Baggies should be able to force a draw at the Madejski Stadium.
